Inkpot Award winning cartoonist Randy Reynaldo announced that a third volume trade paperback of his long-running globetrotting adventure series, Rob Hanes Adventures, will debut at WonderCon, which is being held at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, CA, March 27–29, 2026.
Rob Hanes Adventures, Vol. 3 collects issues 9–12 of the series. Reynaldo cites this run of issues among his favorite, as they represent the broad scope of the series, ranging from high adventure to comedy. This includes the detective character going to the Middle East to help rescue a downed American pilot; a sports story where he goes undercover on a minor league baseball team and becomes more obsessed with getting a hit than solving the case; getting captured and escaping from North Korea; and being stranded on a desert island with a beautiful art thief. (The baseball story from issue 10 was included in the 2009 book, 1000 Comics You Must Read, by Tony Isabella.)
During WonderCon, cartoonist Randy Reynaldo will be at Booth SP-87 under his WCG Comics imprint name in the Small Press area.
In addition to the new trade collection, Randy will have his full catalog of back issues and trade paperbacks, with special discount offers, along with original art and prints. He’ll also have a preview of upcoming issue 27, where Rob goes to Ukraine in search of a missing U.S. national.
About the Series
Rob Hanes Adventures is a fast-paced action-adventure series about a private eye, troubleshooter and spy-for-hire from Justice International who travels the world on assignment, facing danger, intrigue and romance at every turn. Inspired by the great soldier-of-fortune comic strips of the 1930s and ‘40s, but set in the modern-day, the series often crosses into other genres, which has included drawing room murder mysteries, war, sports, and romance. Every story is self-contained, so readers can jump in with any issue.
In 2018, Reynaldo was presented with an Inkpot Award for Contributions to Comic Art by Comic-Con International at the San Diego Comic-Con.
